Park to Pub Outfit

Published by at 06:00

After posting my top 5 favorite things for the month of July I was inspired to crate an outfit around the French Connection breton striped shirt and the River Island peach jeans. The day's duties were a trip to get Prue's buggy fixed, where I managed to lock her and the car keys inside the car! Yikes! A couple of very nice gentlemen came to our rescue and broke one of the car windows to get her out. It was a harrowing ordeal but she is fine. I'm hoping the incident will not be one she needs to get thereapy for later in life. Blurg. ; / Later that evening I had a date to meet a friend at a pub for drinks and due to the locking the baby and keys in the car ordeal I had little turn around time for an outfit change. But swiftly changing shoes, hair and accessories did the trick and off I went for a well deserved G & T. So here is my Park to Pub outfit. Hope it inspires you. Let me know what you think.

Chatter Mag Editorial - Bright Lip Spring/Summer 2012 Makeup Trend

Published by at 06:00

I recently had the pleasure of working on this summer editorial for Chatter Magazine in Chattanooga, TN. I finally got to work with the extremely talented Photographer Edward St. George.  He is also a legendary hair and makeup artist as well so no pressure right?  The look was very simple and beautiful highlighting the trend of the season the bright lip. My go to color for this look is M.A.C.'s Girl About Town. I've been wearing this color and loving how easy it is to make a statement. It's best worn with little to no eyeshadow, a coat of mascara and little bronzer.

I am working on tutorial for this bright lip look. I'll post a link here when it's up.

Sequins and shorts

Published by at 05:18

I wore this outfit when I worked on a shoot for German Vogue a few weeks ago. Hopefully the editorial will be out soon and so I can share it with you. I wasn't sure if the sequins would be too flashy (I was assisting on the shoot and sometimes assistants are meant to just blend into the background) but I really wanted to wear this tank top so I just went for it. This is one of the few items in my wardrobe that I actually paid full price for so I feel I should wear it as much as I can.

Topshop tank top, Twenty8twelve Jacket, River Island jeans, Ciao Bella shoes, Rebecca Minkoff bag, marc jacobs bracelet

Last night I met a friend that was in town from Nashville at The Saunderson Hotel for some drinks. That place is really freakin cool. The only negative was the couple practically having sex on the bar across from us. Eewww.  Not classy people. It was around 80 degrees in London last night so I decided to wear the sequin tank with some shorts. So here is my confession. On my way to the bar I was not feeling totally confident in my choice to wear a pair of light blue faded denim shorts with a cuff.  This is a little crazy I know but when I got off the tube at Oxford Circus the doors to Topshop were still open and a bright pink sign beaconed "Sale 70% off" before I knew it I was rummaging through the racks of shorts as quickly as I could and found a lovely tailored lime pair that were perfect.  I changed in the bathroom at the hotel and felt so much better about my ensemble and on a practical note I was much cooler int he lingering heat. OK, so now I feel quite vulnerable after sharing that with you. Please don't judge me. : ) Anyway here is the before and after. What do you think? Should I have stayed in the denim or did I make the right choice with the lime?

Truth or Dare by Madonna

Published by at 18:10

I managed to avoid spending much time in London during the Olympics so now that they are over, and after I stayed up way too late after watching the closing ceremony,  I took a trip into to town to meet a friend and spend some time perusing one of my favorite places in the city, Selfridges.

I had not planned on looking at shoes but my feet somehow lead me into the shoe gallery and low and behold what did my tired eyes perceive but a brand new exclusive shoe collection designed by Madge herself called Truth or Dare. The black walls and brightly lit shelves were a perfect place to display the sexy yet edgy shoes. It was love at first site. A lovely sales person was kind enough to fill me in on the details of the collection. She partnered with Aldo and although the shoes are made in China they appear to be very good quality ( I asked) and he had not known of any complaints. She could have partnered with a high end designer but wanted the shoes to be accessible to more of her fans and the price points reflect that.  None of the ones I looked at were over £130.00. And did I mention they are STUNNING!   Unfortunately at this time they are only available in store at Selfridges or at So sorry for you out of towners or out of countriers. Maybe in a few months they will make an appearance on ebay. I will be keeping my eyes peeled.

Here are few of my faves.

I probably need to put a ban on studs in my wardrobe but I seriously cannot get enough of them. Love these black ones.

I've been looking for a pair of nude heels for months and I think I finally found them.

I love that she put a little gold metal logo on the bottom. Makes them seem oh so fancy.

PS - I just recorded three new makeup video tutorials (UPDATE: Summer Smokey Eye Tutorial is here) so check back again this week to view them. And don't forget to subscribe to receive our email updates and/or follow us on Bloglovin.  Thanks! Have a  great week.
