New Years Eve Outfit

Published by at 21:02

As we all know tomorrow is New Years Eve. I hope you all have incredibly exciting plans. I am going to dinner with some friends here in Nashville. Looking forward to my first non Tulsa, OK New Years since I don't know when. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my family but I DO-NOT-LIKE Tulsa. Sorry Tulsa readers. I do however love a little designer consignment boutique in Tulsa called Resurrect where I purchased some gorgeous leather leggings by Helmut Lang. If you find yourself in T-town stop by.

Here are some outfit ideas I put together for New Years Eve. I am for sure wearing the Helmut Lang leggings so now I just have to figure out what to wear with them. What do you guys think?  I'm going with two other fashion bloggers Zarna from Zarna's Runway and Carla from Stellashops so I don't have to worry about being too dressed up because they will bring it!

Hope you all have a fabulous time whatever you are doing and be safe.

Happy New Year,

New Years Eve

Patterned Trousers and Blazer -

Published by at 09:41

In honor of the horribly ; ) mild weather we're having here in Nashville I thought I would post an outfit I wore in the fall. These photos were taken in Little Rock, Ar outside an incredible cajun restaurant called Cajun's Wharf. If you ever find yourself in Little Rock eat there. You will love it.

Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay

Published by at 07:40

I hope you've been nice this year because there's a new Urban Decay Palette in town you will definitely want to ask Santa for!!!  The first two Palettes, Naked and Naked 2 have become staples in my personal and professional makeup kits (check out this smokey eyeshadow tutorial using both palettes) so I cannot wait to get my hands on this new one. The Naked Basics Palette features 6 gorgeous matte shades of eyeshadow, four are brand spankin' new. If you've never used Urban Decay or have been eying the Naked Palettes but not sure which one to get I say get this one. It's only $27 and the neutral tones of these velvety textured shadows are wonderful for everyone. I am seriously giddy with excitement.  I'm thinking early Merry Christmas to me from me.

Fantastic Man shoot with Holly Johnson of Frankie goes to Hollywood

Published by at 07:00

"Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty." Derek Zoolander. A prolific quote from a prolific movie.  Holly Johnson of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and I used that as our inspiration while shooting this image for Fantastic Man. Yes that is my hand doing some kick ass hand modeling. And even though I considered it I have not started walking around with my hand in an oxygen chamber.

What to wear when flying

Published by at 07:00

I took my first long haul flight when I was 3 years old. My daughter took her first overseas flight when she was just 3 months old. Needless to say I fly a lot, mostly on flights that last longer than 7 hours. The challenge has been how to fly fashionably but more importantly comfortably.  Here is what I like to wear when I fly. It's pretty much my uniform all year round. I might change out my shoes but my little feet get so cold on those long flights that socks and shoes are a must.

What to wear when flying

1. I always fly with a wool blend sweater with pockets- stay away from synthetics. This one from All Saints is my current favorite.

2. I recently bought this men's wrangler shirt and I love it as a layering peice. It never fails that the middle hours of the flight I am freezing then about an hour before landing I am boiling.

3.  This cotton tank from All Saints is the perfect layer for when I get hot.

4. Leggings = perfect flying pants. These cashmere blend from Express are great for flying in winter and for summer I just wear a cotton blend like these from American Apparel.

5. Accessories and security screenings do not go together, but I feel a little naked with out them so I keep things TSA friendly by wearing a scarf, also good for wrapping up in on the flight and a long pendant necklace.

6. I love wearing heels but when your lugging a child and suitcases through a busy airport they are not practical. But a lower heeled boot is a perfect compromise. These from Lucky have been surprisingly comfortable and easy to hussle in if I'm running late.

7.  Bring along a pair of flip flops or those fit in your purse flats. They can be super handy when you need to go to the bathroom but don't want to put your shoes back on.

Ikea Malm Dresser Hack

Published by at 06:00

Hacking Computers? Not a good idea, unless you are a teenager saving the world in a 80's movie then thumbs up. Ikea Hacking? Best idea ever! Basically there is a wicked sight that offers inspirational ideas on how to take your cookie cutter flat pack particle board furniture and turn into a unique upscale looking piece of flat pack particle board furniture.

Recently I have made it my mission to add more mid centery m odern pieces to our houses. I am finally feeling almost like a gorwn up and I would like my furniture to reflect this. But this stuff is expensive and not that easy to find in my budget so Ikea keeps luring me back in. The malm system especially. I pretty much love every peice.

So here is my idea. I want to hack one of my malm dressers but the question is do I use an overlay from this genius company O'verlay (
I found out about them from the super cute blog Posh meets Pavement), or do I paint them using a stencil from this fantastic place Cutting Edge Stencils. I would love your opinion.

This is the Malm I want to hack.

This an image of an O'verlays malm.

And this is an idea for the stencil.

What do you think?

Thanks for your help.

Stephen Webster Super Stud Jewelry Collection

Published by at 19:58

A few months ago I attended an event at Kings Jewelers in Nashville where I was introduced to a jewelry collection by Stephen Webster called Superstud. The moment the stunning studded rock-n-roll inspired designs glistened in my eyes I felt we were made for each other. If I could afford it I would give them all a very loving home in my jewelry box but since they all can't come live with me, I did go back and buy the gold hoops, I thought I would share them with you and maybe you can offer one or two of them a place in your home/heart.

Gorgeous right???
