Aitken Jolly Photographer | Maxine Leonard Makeup

I discovered the beauty story above one afternoon while browsing through an old issue of Wonderland Magazine with the oh so wonderful looking Zac Efron on the cover. The powerfull simplicity of the makeup moved me as I studied each image over and over. Looking at the credits I discovered the makeup was done by Maxone Leonard and the photography was by Aitken Jolly. I was so moved by their work I went hunting online for more. The following are a few images I found that made me say awe, ooh, yes. Basically I loved them. I think the top ones will be my summer makeup inspiration. 

I'm not sure who did the makeup on the last two images but I loved them so much I had to include them. 

The Great Gatsby Soundtrack

My incredibably clued up friend Brett Warren has me so excited about the new Great Gatsby movie directed by Baz Lurhman. The other day we were editing images ( he's also an extremely talented photographer) and we watched the trailer too many times to mention.  As with all of Baz Lurhmans films the music stood out as a charachter of it's own.  After being emotionally moved by what I heard and then buying the Lana Del Rey Single Young and Beautiful I wanted more. A quick google search sent me to NPR's First Listen where you can stream the entire soundtrack produced by Jay-Z and featuring Beyonce, Will.i.am, Gotye, Florence and the Machine and Sia.  I can't stop listening. It's nothing ground breaking just fun music fit for a twenties themed over the top garden party....which I will be attending in full on twenties attire. Don't worry I'll post photos. : )

Binx in Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 Show

I recently had the great pleasure of working with a very talented Nashville/NY model that goes by the cute and quirky name of Binx. Brett Warren photographed her and I did hair and makeup for an afternoon shoot on a lovely sunny day in Nashville.  I have worked with her a few times but this was the first time we really got to chat. She is such a lovely girl wtih an amazing attitude toward work and life.

A few days ago she walked in the Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 show in NYC Fashion week! EEEk! I know right? Amazing!  Here are few images from the show and from the shoot that Brett and I did with her. Keep your eyes and ears open for her because I am sure you will be hearing a lot more about Binx.

M.A.C. Pressed Pigments

How beautiful is this image from M.A.C.'s new pressed pigments collection? I will tell you. It's georgous! I'm using it as an inspiration for a shoot I'm doing for Amelie G mag. 

There are 12 new shades that are all "high gloss, pearlized pigments". 

This makeup artist is excited to get her hands on these pretty pressed pigments. 

New Years Eve Outfit

As we all know tomorrow is New Years Eve. I hope you all have incredibly exciting plans. I am going to dinner with some friends here in Nashville. Looking forward to my first non Tulsa, OK New Years since I don't know when. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my family but I DO-NOT-LIKE Tulsa. Sorry Tulsa readers. I do however love a little designer consignment boutique in Tulsa called Resurrect where I purchased some gorgeous leather leggings by Helmut Lang. If you find yourself in T-town stop by.

Here are some outfit ideas I put together for New Years Eve. I am for sure wearing the Helmut Lang leggings so now I just have to figure out what to wear with them. What do you guys think?  I'm going with two other fashion bloggers Zarna from Zarna's Runway and Carla from Stellashops so I don't have to worry about being too dressed up because they will bring it!
